Cuernavaca

The Cemanahuac Educational Community is located in lovely Cuernavaca,"the land of eternal spring," a colonial city located about 50 miles south of and a 90 minute drive from Mexico City, at an altitude of 1,542 meters (5,280 feet) above sea level.

Cuernavaca is the capital city of the state of Morelos, and as the capital, many social service, health, and educational programs in the state have their administrative offices here. These programs welcome professional visitors from other countries.

 

Cemanahuac Facilities

Cemanahuac is situated in three large villas in the Las Palmas section of Cuernavaca surrounded by tropical gardens. The school buildings house the classroom space, a comprehensive library containing books, periodicals and videos (in both Spanish and English), administrative offices, a video viewing room, lecture rooms, gardens, and a swimming pool.

Cemanahuac is located on a quiet street, but it is within three blocks of a post office, a bank, restaurants, a bakery, sidewalk cafes, several grocery stores, pharmacies, a small hotel, and a stationary store, and it is near many other educational and recreational facilities. The school is located one block from a main street with bus transportation.

Students are invited to become involved in the activities of the Cuernavaca community. In addition to those activities provided by the families with whom students live, there are concerts, art exhibitions, plays, and other cultural activities each week. The close proximity to Mexico City, the intellectual and the cultural heart of the country, provides additional opportunities for enriching educational experiences.
